Shutterfly Fun and a Giveaway

The other night I had the pleasure of hanging out with a group of fun girls!!! We chatted about blogging, family life, guinea pigs, and of course, Shutterfly!! Being the bloggers that we are sending out holiday cards is something we all love to do! The selection of gorgeous cards that Shutterfly offers makes creating the perfect holiday card a snap!

A key component for a great holiday card starts with a great photo!! If you're like me, you plan your family pictures in the Fall so they're nice and ready for the holiday card. Here are my tips for a great family photo day!

1.] Please don't, whatever you do.. do the matchy-matchy thing.. I'm all for picking a color and running with it but add some variety in how the color is used. For instance in our family photos a couple of years back we were going with shades of blue and teal. But we all did it differently and it made for some great shots.

That year I had actually asked my photographer what color she thought is best for photos and she recommended blue. We've since done other color combinations but I have to agree I like how the blue pops.

2.] Another tip is to bring some fun props, last year my photographer brought her adorable wagon and I filled it with fake christmas presents. It made for some cute shots of the boys.

3.] My last tip is be yourself. My favorite photos are the unposed just being our goofy/loving selves it really captures our family dynamic. Last year the kids were not cooperating for pictures and we actually ended up using the funny shots for our holiday card. We wished everyone a Merry Mayhem!

This year we were being silly and getting the boys to giggle which meant we captured some of those amazing real smiles!
