Ignite Hope Walk 2012

Our friends invited us to join them for a night time walk benefiting the Phoenix Children's Hospital called Ignite Hope.

We arrived there in time to register, get our electronic candles and wrist bands, grab a couple of treats and to hear the Grand Marshal, Chelsea Kane say a few words. It was a nice night and great walk. The walk was a 1.7 miles long  (3.4 round trip) and involved a stop on the front drive of the hospital. There were little kids in the windows with candles as well. It was so touching that I was brought to tears. Thinking about the hope we were bringing to these kids and that we were there to let them know that we support them was a truly touching experience. As a momma I also had an overwhelming feeling of  how blessed I am that my kids would be at home with me and not spending Christmas in the hospital and that they are both healthy little guys.  While on the  hospital drive there was Christmas music and performances for the kids in the hospital, who had screens positioned so they could watch too. There were also a ton of gifts donated and put around a gorgeous tree that was lit for the first time that night!

It was the first annual walk and I cannot wait to make this a family tradition and bring along even more people to join us.
