Being surrounded by my immediate family and closest friends is what I will always remember about my 30th birthday!
Being that it was a small affair we skipped the formal invites and just did a plain 'ole FB invite.. it was a social media themed party... derrr, haha. To make it cute I added a fun cover photo and the following text, in hashtags, of course!+
#ComeCelebrate @JenAStreet #turningInstaOld #30isthenew20 #MellowMushroom #Karisturning30too #itsthebirthday #leo #6:45 #dontbelate #HappyBirthday
I strongly believe that a birthday dinner/party HAS to have a theme I was having a hard time figuring out a theme for myself. I wanted something that could be simple but representative of myself. When I came across this Cute and Clever Instagram party I just KNEW I had to do something Instagram related. I most loved the fun cupcake toppers so I set off to find pics of all the attendees since they all aren't on Instagram I just made up user names for them :)
The only other decor thing I did was scatter a bunch of my very own Instagram photos that I screen-shotted (is that even a word) and my bestie cut them out. Big shout out to my awesome helper Jamie!
I found the MOST adorable Instagram cookie cutter/imprint maker by the CutterShop
that I HAD to have. I made homemade Insta"graham" crackers and sat that, along with a cupcake with their personalized Insta-topper at each place setting. The Cutter Shop makes customized cookie cutters and they're open for suggestions, they love a good challenge, go check them out!
The morning of the dinner I worked on making pretzel and chocolate "hashtags" Lets just say they weren't executed very well and I just had a bag of pretzels with some chocolate drizzles by the time I arrived :( They would've been super cute if they didn't have to get transported in the heat.
In true Instagram fashion I provided a hashtag #JensInstaThiry and I went around the table and took a photo with all of my guests!
The pizza was great, the beer was flowing and the cupcakes were delish! It was a great night and I'm so glad that all my favorite people were there to celebrate it!
After the yummy dinner it was off to the casino for Kari's Birthday Bingo Bonanza!
